Annual program

Events, thematic tours and scene games take place regularly at Schloss Landshut. Here you can find out which events and occasions are current during the current season. There is sure to be something interesting or fairytale-like for you. We are looking forward to your visit.

Worth knowing about this year's season

Traditionally, the season starts on Mother's Day, this year on May 14, 2023, with the opening of the new special exhibition. "On the prowl. The Craft of Hunting" offers insight into the everyday life of hunters - from the preparation to the preparation of the meat. The new permanent exhibition "The Beautiful Melusina" will also be celebrated on this day.

This year's program also includes evening tours on current topics, such as the lynx, ibex hunting, which is not really hunting, or the new pavilion or game station Utzenstorf.

For children we have a highlight in the program on June 18: The hungry wolf Lupus storms onto the farm to get a meal. But nobody pays attention to him, all the animals are reading. Then the wolf decides: I can do that too! The actress and storyteller Katharina Lienhard interprets the picture book "The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse" by Mac Barnett, for everyone from 4 years on.

Of course, the open air film soirées will take place again on August 25 and 26. This time the following Swiss documentary films are on the program: "Lynx" and "Wild". "Lynx" shows the story of a family of lynx followed through the seasons. As rare as encounters with this discreet wild cat are, it is extraordinary to discover their daily life in their natural environment. In "Wild," Grisons filmmaker Mario Theus goes on a journey of thought with his father, whom he accompanied on hunts as a boy. Based on his own experiences, he goes on a foray with the first Swiss gamekeeper, a mountain farmer from Central Switzerland and a former poacher who now films animals.

As usual, we will also be part of the Swiss Castle Day on October 1, when cultural mediator Ursula Räss and experimental archaeologist Kurt Mischler will present prehistoric hunting tools.

What else we have in store - from a game dinner to castle tours and storytelling - can be found in the calendar of events. We look forward to seeing you in the 2023 season!

Please note, that all our events are in German. In case of questions or remarks, the guides speak English and/or French.
